Seroquel calms Alzheimer's Agitation

The agitation sometimes experienced by Alzheimer's patients can be overcome using the schizophrenia drug quetiapine, marketed as Seroquel by AstraZeneca. Dr. Pierre Tariot of the University of Rochester in New York said 60 percent of 333 elderly Alzheimer's patients who were given the drug showed a lowered level of agitation, compared with 30 percent who used a placebo. "
