Astellas gives up development of Alzheimer's drug

Astellas gives up development of Alzheimer's drug: "Astellas Pharma Inc. (4503.T: Quote, Profile, Research), Japan's third-biggest drug maker, said on Tuesday it has given up development of its Alzheimer's disease treatment FK962 due to a lack of clear evidence of efficacy from clinical trial data.

The drug had been in Phase II clinical trials in the United States."
