A surprising result given that it is a key protein associated with the development of AD, and that the disease takes so long to develop. They intend to use this new amyloid beta test to monitor protein levels for research. It was unclear whether the test would be useful for diagnosis, but it seems unlikely, at least for the immediate future, since the findings are that amyloid beta isn't behaving as researchers thought it would.
